About Me
Bought my first scooter as soon as I turned 17 (Vespa PX125 - still got it as its currently residing as a "feature" in the back garden) - could have got one earlier but couldn't be arsed wasting my time on a 50cc ! Never done the mod thing - it was always about the scooter and the "Scooterboy Scene" at that time in 1986, joined the Roadrunners when The Cricketers was the venue. Did most of the NSRA runs (as they were then) up to 1991/2ish when the club sort of lost its way and drifted towards the Bolton Spartans. During that time did most of the runs on a GP200 (purchased new from Turners) but also produced the custom Lambretta chopper "Heroin" as featured in Scootering Sept 1990 (still got that too !). Went through the wilderness years, although always kept scooters in garage, until I was persuaded to do the Bridlington rally 2007 on "Heroin" - cheers lads (was in traction for a week - choppers are a young man's game !!!). As I said before, it was always about the scooters to me and making em go faster whilst still retaining the classic engines and lines - currently have T5 Mk1 (std), T5 Mk1 (190 kit), SX125 (TS1-225), Li125 Series 1 (TS1-225), Heroin chopper SX125 (205 stage 4), PX200E (std) & Primavera (135 kit) - not one mirror or anything else non-aerodynamic to be seen - ha ha. Nice to be back doing it and great to see the Roadrunners flourishing again !!! |

About Me
Wanted a Lambretta for years since the Mod revival of the late 70's / early eighties. So twenty odd years on I've now got one. Blame Derek and MCFC for a. the scooter and b. the colour scheme (in that order) |

About Me
Hey up, started off as a skin in '69. Went through all the stages of Moddy stuff during the 70's. Had mi 1st scoot at 15, a TV 175, series II chopper (not cut down) but built by an old Roadrunner - George Slupski - tnx G. A few scooters later and I'm wed with 2 kids - no scoots, I know you've bin there!!! It never leaves you. You can hear, smell, taste and feel scoots no matter where in the world you are, I have chased Lammies in San Fransisco, just for a pic. They thought I was manic!! Recently, well in the past 3 years, I have got back in to scootering, I can't call it the 'scene' it makes me cringe and have discovered the Roadrunners again, I was a member in 1970, and a have found a rewarding, pleasant and envigourating past time. Nice mates, good times and guess what..............I feel 15 again!! Where are all my old G/friends and Burnden Park and the non stop dancing at the Palais......oh sh*t I can't go through all that again..can I??? |

About Me
Been into scooters since being a teenager but was never able to afford one. Got my first scoot as a 50th birthday present from my wife and children, a vespa px200 and have loved every minute of it since. Joined the roadrunners in may 2005 with my mate Barry and have felt like a teenager ever since! Enjoy all the ride-outs and the cameraderie. Felt like a novice initially but feel as though iv'e always had one. |

About Me
Always fancied a classic lambretta, and i saw this one and thought 'Bellisima' i intend to go to the italian lakes one day and the only way to see them is on a Lambretta.
I love two wheels of any description, love italian styling, love italian wine, love alfa romeo, love italian ski resorts,
Even though i've only just joined the roadrunners, the lads are top drawer and made me welcome at the meets, just hope i can get on most of the ride outs, work commitments at moment hold me back
Thanks guys |
